New Portfolio Added – Iceland 2010

A brand new collection of landscape photography shot in Iceland during November 2010. The portfolio covers the diversity found in Iceland including the awe-inspiring natural world and the mark left by man on this fragile landscape.

Landscape Photographer of the Year 2010

I am delighted to announce that two of my images ‘The Spa’ and ‘La Vallette Bathing Pools’ have been commended by the judges and won places in the ‘Landscape Photography of the Year 2010′ awards book. The book is due to be published on the 31st October.

The two images are also going to be exhibited at the National Theatre in London SE1. The exhibition is free and runs from 22nd November 2010 until the 16th January 2011.

In addition the Sunday Times carried a feature on the awards on the 24th October and I am pleased to say the one of my images was published in the feature too.

The End of Gannex Mill

I drove past Gannex Mill in Elland earlier today and much to my disappointment and sadness found that it was now being demolished. I originally photographed Gannex Mill as part of my Shadows of Industry project back in August 2009 and it has always been one of my most successful shots, most recently it was printed full page in the October issue of Black + White Photography Magazine.

The photo above shows the mill as it stands today well on its way to being destroyed and on the right my photo taken back in August 2009. Another piece of our industrial heritage destroyed to make way no doubt for a featureless modern box.

Black + White Photography Magazine

A selection of my handmade platinum / palladium prints from my “Shadows of Industry” portfolio have been featured in the October issue of Black + White Photography Magazine. My work won the Reader Assignment that was exploring the use of alternative printing processes in this digital age.
